HOW TO WALLPAPER A WALL WITH DOORS AND WINDOWS
"Surely you have already seen many tutorials and read many tips about the placement of wallpaper, both on our page and on any other. It is important that you inform yourself if you are going to do it yourself, because we don't want something that we will see every day to look bad."
That's why today we want to talk about what to do when we find doors or windows on a wall. Don't worry, it's simpler than it seems; you just need to have a little more skill and, above all, press the wallpaper from the edge towards the door or window frame.
Step by step to place wallpaper on doors
"We will start with the doors, which you will find in every room, although sometimes we only install the wallpaper on one wall. The bedroom of our children, for example, can have wallpaper to bring more joy and fun, and we must ensure it looks good."
We will start by aligning the pattern of the strips so that it looks good, and we will start pressing from the highest part of the ceiling. You can use your own hand, but we recommend doing it with a wallpaper brush, as this will give you a smoother paper without irregularities.
With the edge of a ruler or the non-cutting part of a pair of scissors, lightly mark the door frame on the wallpaper. Be careful not to damage it, do it gently and without cutting tools. Now cut what is over the paper, leaving about two or three centimeters from the marked line as an overlap. It will be easier if you lift the edge a little.

With this excess of wallpaper already removed, make a small cut in the corner of the frame, in order to fold this overlap following the structure of the door. Finally, press the paper with a specialized spatula or a simple ruler to secure it. Now it's time to cut the overlap that has been created along the frame and finish the details.
Cut overlaps and add more strips
When the first strip is in place, we will have a small overhang of a couple of centimeters if we have measured correctly. With a wallpaper wallpaper or a utility knife, and the help of a ruler, make the cut so that it completely covers the wall, but without overlapping the door frame.
When you have this ready, it will be time to install a new strip in the upper area of the door, which is probably no more than 30 or 50 centimeters high. Depending on the width of your door you will need one or two, but that won't be a problem. Remember to align the patterns and leave 2 centimeters on the ceiling and another two on the frame.
Again, attach the paper to the edge of the frame as explained in the previous section, and cut the excess. You will only need to, depending on the size, place the strip of wallpaper in the other door frame. Follow the previous steps exactly the same, and you will have completed this challenge.
Install wallpaper on windows, folding inward
Now that we have seen how to overcome the doors, it is time to face the windows. As usual, measure everything well and cut the strip you need, always keeping in mind the pattern you should follow.
"Just as we did before, but inward, we must leave a little overlap so that the edge remains clean. With two centimeters, you will have enough to carefully cut the excess both below the lintel and at the top of the sill. In this way, we will manage to fit the wallpaper into all the corners."
'The following strip will be placed in the area of the window lintel, so it will be placed above the previous one and respecting the pattern. For this, it is important that it is wallpaper, or else we risk it having an unappealing appearance.'
In the case that it was wallpaper, like vinyl, you would have to resort to what is known as double joint cutting. This way, you will complete the entire edge of the window just like you did with the door.
